Kandy Esala Perahera without devotees

The Kandy Esala Peraehra would be held without the Participation of Devotees announced the Diyawadna Nilame Pradeep Nilanga Dela at the final Perahera Conference held today (10th August ) at the Sri Dalada Maligawa Complex.

It was also announced that there would be no advertising material within the route of the Perahera, and no sound systems would be employed nor would any material that is advertising could be used. In other words, no advertising material would not e allowed to be used within the area during the period of the Perahera.

The Diyawadana Nilame would be guided by the instructions of the Health authorities and would work on the ‘ Bubble ‘ principle.

The first Kumbal Peaehra would be held on the 13th of August and all are advised to view the Perahera through the Television network and also the Web of the Sri Dalada Malgawa which would be on the ‘air’ during this period.

With the ending of Kumbal Perahra on the 17th August, Randoli would be held on the 18th August till the 22nd when the final night would be on Nikkini Poya Day.

On he 23rd August morning the water cutting ceremony would be held at Getambe and the Perahera would return to Ganadevi Kovil and from there to Adhana Maluwa for the Golden Perahera Karanduwa to be taken and thus are encircling the Palace Square thrice, would conclude the Peahera for 2021,

At the Conference held on the 10th ( today ) the District Secretary Chandana Tennakoon SSP Nimal Ratnayake, Director of Health Services D.Nimal Talagala, the Basnayake Nilames of the Devale and other officials connected with the Kandy Esa Perahea were present.
