Professor Terrance Mudajith of The University of Peradeniya proudly marked the reopening of the Computer Laboratory of its Faculty of Management , following the extensive damage caused by Cyclone Ditwa
He said that the 100 computors and 85 inch smart Boards was also a gift from Sujeewa Wickramanayake of EW Enterprises of Suriyawewa.

The Vice Chancellor of how this gift .of comptors came intot he University, he said ne monring he had a telephone call from an unknown number, which he replied and on the telephone was Sujheewa from South Africa. He said that he wished to donate computors to teh Univerfsity. He said it was a time when they were lookinng out for equipmet to opend the University for undergradutes who were coming from five bathches. He said that he did not know the qantity. But today the entire Management Facuty has been reponed with thes compuors, h adeed.
The Managing Director of EW enterprises said that he as a Sri Lanakan wished to see that the University would regain it sablitiy and all garduates could , if they wished to Visit sooriyawewa project
Two fully equipped computer laboratories were completely destroyed due to severe flooding, rendering all computers and related equipment beyond repair. The loss significantly disrupted academic activities and posed considerable challenges to students who rely heavily on digital resources for lectures, research, and practical coursework. Responding swiftly to the urgent need to restore these essential learning facilities, E-W Information Systems Limited (EWIS) stepped forward with a generous contribution to re-establish the Faculty’s Computer Laboratory. As part of this initiative, the company officially handed over 100 brand-new laptops manufactured at its advanced production facility in Sooriyawewa, reaffirming the strength of Sri Lankan-built technology. In addition, an 85-inch widescreen smart board was donated to further enhance interactive teaching and modernize the digital learning environment.
