Russian Day at the University of Peradeniya

Any undergraduate in the University could learn the Russian Language said the Vice Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya said Professor M.D.Lamawansa at the first ever” Russian Day” held in collaboration with the Russian Embassy in Colob,o
Professor Lamawansa was addressing the invitees at the Russsian Day held at the University of Peradeniya, which was initiated at the Senate Room of the University.
Professor Lamawansa recalled the ties between Russian and Sri Lanka and the long-standing relationship of the two countries.
He also said that Russian Language is becoming important and that there is scope for the undergraduates to learn the language and through which they could also gather the greatness, the historical background and the peoples of the country.
The First Secretary of the Russian Embassy in Colo,bo Madam Maria Popova declared opened a section of Russian Books in the Kannagara Building where the Classical Language section situated
The Diirector of the International Section opf the University of Peradniya Professor C.N.R.A.Alles alsso addressed the gatheiring at the Senate Room.
