Peradeniya Universtiy in bloom

The premier University is in bloom, these plants were hand planted on the 3500 acres of Rubber land with intermitten Tea bushes. when the University was opened with Sir Ivor Jennings was the Chancellor of the University.

The hand planting was carried out by Curator Dhaampath with his men under the supervisionof Sir Ivor and  Resident Engineer Nettleton

Curator Dhampath’s name is rarely mentioned, but he was the man who planted the entire land for posterity. and we now view the beauty of Peradeniya.
