Bringing of Kap to Kandy and distribtuion at the Dedimunda Devale

The ” Kap ” to be planted on 17th morning at the four Devales as a prelude to the commencement of Kandy Esala perahera rituals was handed over the four Devales of Natha, Stri Maha Vishnu,Katragama and Godess Pathini in the eveing of the 16th August.
Photographs shows the entry of the procession from Aluthnwuara to Kandy and also the distributing at the Kandy Dedimunda Devale to the respective Kapurala’;s of the  four Devale’s 
The planting of the ‘ kap ‘ takes palce at 6.13am at the four Devales on 17th August – Thursday.
