Lighting of the Hearth at the Sri Dalada Maligawa

The lighting of the Hearth at the Sri Dalada Maligawa was conducted three hours ahead of the time given by astrologers for the public. The Hearth was lit at the Hewisi Mandapaya ( Drummers Hall ) in front of the Royal entrance.  amidst the Chanting of ” Seth Pirth ” by the Service monks of the Sri Dalada Maligawa

The times for the rituals are calculated by the Maligawa Astrologers and it is on his recommendation that the times for the Maligawa rituals are conducted.

The Hearth was lit by the Diyawadana Nilama Pradeep Nilanga Dela and the Kariya Korale of the Malgiawa P..Karunatillke among the ” Seth Poirith ” chanted by the Service monks of the Malgiawa. at 9.45 pm on the 13th April.2024
