Today ( 30th May ) falls the 79th Birth Anniversary of the Mahanayake of Malwatta Venerable Thibbotuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Thera, coming in  the lineage of the one of the first five to be bestowed with Upasampada  jn 1753

The Thera was born on 30th May 1944 in the real Kandyan village of Tibbotuwawe, Konsiya Pattuwa, in the south oif Matale Distirict. The Thera was named Tibbotuwawe Loku Banda by his parents Bandranaike Wasla Mudali Tikiri Banda Nilame of Tibbotuwawe Waluwe.The Thera was ordanied in 1957, under the almost powerful  Mahnayake  Purijkkala Thera  and under Tibbotuwawe Medankara Thera at  the age of 13.  He recieved Upasampada in1964 at the age of 20 under the  Preceptor Venerable Vippassi Mahanauyake Thera.another pwoerful Mahnayke in the history of Malwatrta Mahna Vihare.
