The hundred year old man operated lift has been given a new lease of life by Venerable Battaramulle Seelaratne Thera with a donation of one one hundred thousand seventyone to the Kandy National Hospital to buy a new rope to operate the now unused ‘man’ operated lift.
The donation was received by the Deputy Director of the Kandy National Hospital by Dt (Ms) Inoka Weerasinghe.
Earlier the Chairman of Kandy Coordinating Committee Parliamentarian Gunatilleke Rajapakse inspected the Man operated lift at the Kandy Hospital who said that he would contact the Navy to obtain a rope to oepratie the life or failing which a rope needed for this purpose would be imported.
In the meantime Venerable Battaramulle Seelaratne Thera had come to the rescue by donating the needed monies for the purcahse of the rope
