Police action is due on the alleged massive fraud of Rupees 3.3 million in the Physical Training department of the University of Peradeniya.
At the outset of the detection of the alleged fraud a Police complaint had been lodged with the Police and investigations were been made when the domestic inquiry commenced.  This is now finalized with a report on the alleged fraud and the Director Palitha Kumar’s services has been terminated by the University.
The work of the department is overlooked by a Professor of the University
The Deputy Vice Chancellor Professor Terrance Mudajith told the ‘ Sunday Times ‘ on Monday  that the Council of the University now would take a decision as to how this alleged defrauded money could be taken back from the former Director of the Physical Training department.
